Fabian Diaz Luevano was born in central Mexico in 1991 and has lived nearly equal amounts of time in Tijuana and El Cajon. From an early age, he found an interest in drawing. In high school he entered a contest, National PTA Reflections Program, where he obtained honorable mention. He continued to develop skill in watercolor and other media individually and later, in 12th grade, through a 3-D design course in pottery, drawing, and jewelry and a drawing course while studying abroad in Bordeaux, France, in 2012.
His love for learning motivated him to earn a bachelor’s degree in History of Public Policy in 2013 from UC Santa Barbara. In June 2016, he exhibited a collection of charcoal, pencil, and mixed media pieces entitled Natural and Artificial Forms at the El Cajon Public Library.
Since then, he has completed courses in illustration, bronze sculpture, and figure drawing at Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges, where he also works as an English tutor and proctor.
His new exhibit called 2016-2017: drawings, paintings, and mixed media pieces will be at the Herrick Library through March.
